"The Best Of ABBA" is the best-selling album of all time in Australia (tied with Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms"), certified 22 times Platinum, with over 1,100,000 units sold. In New Zealand it is certified 24 times Platinum. In the Netherlands and West "The Best Of ABBA" was the best-selling album of 1976.
The release of "The Best Of ABBA" prompted ABBA's mother company Polar to rush-release "Greatest Hits".
The same pool of 15 songs was used for "The Best Of ABBA" and "Greatest Hits". The original 1975 configuration of "The Best Of ABBA" includes 12 tracks, later editions also include "Fernando". Less well known tracks like "He Is Your Brother" and "Another Town, Another Train" appearing on "Greatest Hits" don't appear on "The Best Of ABBA".

This LP was huge in Australia . Everyone had a copy of this in the Summer of 75 .Agnetha looking quite tasty too. -
there are 2 pressings, the first as mentioned with the early fades then a repressing with those faults rectified.
The CD remained in print for less than two years and, according to Abba: The Worldwide Charts Lists, sold just 5,786 copies during that time. -

This is the HONG KONG Pressung from Polydor Label and not -
It's unbelievable that one of the biggest selling albums of all time in Australasia received such a poor CD release. The quality of the CD pressing is atrocious. The intro of about half of the tracks on the CD is cut off, so the songs start a couple of seconds later than they are supposed to. Also, there are quite audible sudden volume changes, for example at the start of "Ring Ring". It's hard to believe that this is actually an official release, but it is. I bought this CD in the eighties for nostalgic reasons because it's such an iconic album, but frankly I could do a better job burning my own CD. The quality department of RCA should hang its head in shame.
