Wings (2) – Venus And Mars

Great sounding release. Flawless pressing other than a slight dish warp (which seem to be common with Optimal)
Sound is much more open, detailed and balanced than my Wally Traugott mastered original (which also sounds great). The clarity of the 1/2 speed mastering does make a difference. Looking forward to "Wings at the Speed of Sound" also tempted to buy the 1/2 speed "Band on the Run"

My pressing lacks a lot of bass and is heavily compressed (sounds like a heavy limiter). Weird.

This is a great one. I had a clean US original for years, then found a mint UK pressing in a local shop which I found to be slightly better than the US but not night and day. This new Miles cut sounds very balanced tonally, and there is more space around the instruments and better inner detail without any harshness. It’s a definite improvement over his earlier cut for the archive edition, which I have in the yellow/red split version (it’s not bad, just a bit flatter/constricted in direct comparison and this new press has quieter vinyl).

Amazing pressing, sonicaly it did not deliver just as well as the previous releases from the same series but I'm not complaining.

Without a doubt the best sound quality I’ve ever heard from this album. I’ve gone through an OG US, Japan and UK pressing but got rid of those once I got the archive edition because it just sounded so much better than the originals. We have finally struck gold because this is finally a serious quality “audiophile” treatment of this album. The archive release was fantastic, but this is just a whole other level of sound increase all around.

Like someone noted below, this is the best this album will sound without it getting a full remix. I wish they came in a poly lined sleeves and had the same hardstock quality jackets that the archive edition had because it is a flimsy jacket but I’m more focused on the LP here. A++++++++++++++

This is the best I’ve heard it. The mix leaves something to be desired, sometimes drenched in too much reverb & too muddy. But this probably does the best job at cleaning it up without a remix. Recommend.

The sounds is exceptionally clean with great clarity. My copy has about four light pops in a row on one song. I wish it were perfect but that's a big ask with vinyl.
Having enjoyed the posters and stickers from the original release, and having used the Venus and Mars sticker, I'm pleased to have the sticker again. This entire package is well done. The card stock sleeve is rather tight.

A fantastic pressing, I am extremely satisfied, this is how it should be!
