          Referencing the 1977 pressing of BNS 40025: my copy has a jacket which states that it is "Printed by James Upton Ltd., England" but nothing that I can find to suggest that the record itself was actually pressed in the UK. It sounds terrific -- a lovely detailed pressing, quiet, good instrument fidelity and presence.

            Sound is great, but sadly on both sides there are quite a lot of cracks mainly in the left channel. Sounds like non-fill.
            Definitely not the best blue note pressing.

              Near perfect pressing, slight edge warp that I can take care off. No issues on any tracks with “distortion” at all. The vinyl plays perfectly. Too many people getting into this hobby with crap gear trying to play audiophile pressings and then act like the vinyl is the issue. Nope. Music is great, I just love Herbie. Sound quality is top tier. Cut quite hot, had to turn the volume down, well balanced, deep bass. Just lovely.

                One of my favorite BN Hancock albums!

                This is a slight improvement over the BN75. It's cut a bit louder, and the dynamics are better; the BN75 is a tad compressed. For the first time, the BNC jacket beats the BN75. The text is clearer on the jacket, and while the BN75 unipack jacket is the same format as the original, I find those to be annoying, and so the BNC gatefold is better. But I got my copy from the library, so not sure I'll replace my BN75. The difference in sound quality is only slight, and might only be noticeable on headphones. Moreover, I don't think this is that great a recording in of SQ. The pressing was fine - none of the issues as noted below.

                  My first copy had few lines of visible non-fill on both sides. Returned it and got another. Second copy has a slight visible scratch on B side and otherwise looks almost perfect, BUT for whatever the reason, on side A the second track has lots of distortion on left channel on multiple occasions. Doesn't show as usual non-fill shiny pearls but completely ruins the listening experience. Not sure if I want to try my luck on another or just buy something else. I have dozens of Optimal pressings but this is properly poor now.

                  Edit: I tried adjusting my turntable on anti-skating just to be sure it's not some "inner groove distortion" suddenly caused by poor settings, but no effect at all. It must be the pressing, as no other albums I have act like this. Returned the LP entirely. I'm not in the mood on trying any more copies.

                    My copy is flat, centered, and very silent. Everything you would expect from this blue note series. Sounds a bit bright in my opinion, causing the cymbals to stand out, but it also brings more detail to the piano than the usual RVG, and a sort of fullness... so I say it's awesome! Needles to say, the music is brilliant and still sounds fresh after more than 50 years.

                        Everything about my copy is great - no pops, noise, non-fill, etc. EXCEPT - the label on Side A was placed off-center and overlaps the locked groove, so after A3 I have to to b-line it to the turntable and stop the record before the needle drags over the label.
