Songs from the Big Chair is the second studio album by English band Phonogram, Inc..

Most CD copies of the album feature the stereo channels swapped compared to the LP edition; the sole exception is the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab CD, which follows the LP release. However, per a handwritten note on the master tape's box, the configuration used on non-Mobile Fidelity CDs is the intended one.

The solid tracks on this album are incredible ... Shout, Everybody Wants to Rule, Head Over Heels, Mother's Talk ... but when you think about albums on the whole, this one has only eight songs, and a couple of them are just throwaways. What it had going for it were those four killer songs.

This is cut very hot!!! Perhaps a tad too compressed to run it that hot? The loudness wars didn’t really start until the early 90’s … anyway - for the style of music it is, it’s not bad - perhaps just a tad too hot for my liking …

This is a flat transfer of the master tape and sounds like the best version to me. It is SUPER expensive though, and I don't feel the improvement is worth it. I would pay $50 for it, and no more.

Since the reviews on the represses are mixed, made sure to grab a VG+ copy of this one. Great sound quality and quiet playback!

Not sure why the rating is so low. This is an amazingly clean pressing. It sounds fantastic even on my mediocre set up.

A little bit more high end than my original US vinyl and a little less low end. Both of those can be mitigated by minor eq adjustments on your amp. This is my new preferred way of listening to this great album. Two thumbs up.
