Rising High was in the early 90's one of the best hardcore label out on th UK scene. But from 1992 onwards, they concentrated also on getting German Trance artists attention in the UK. It was the first (and possibly only) label to gain as much respect amongst 'ardkore crews (and later on junglist posses) as amongst trance fans.
So Edible Pumas is just a reflection of this policy : german trance artists release a record on UK hardcore label interested in trance.
What's interesting, though, is that producers of this record probably aimed the UK rave scene, with breakbeats and all. Needless to say, it had no impact on the nascent jungle scene in the UK at the time, the breakbeats souding very 1992ish and dated by 1993 standards (the sound evolved so much so quickly at the time).
It was reported at the time, though (I was reading the magazines, then, f*** me 12 years ago!), that techno DJ's like Colin Dale caned it to death at Knowledge Club.

My copy is a very strange white label that I picked up at Break Beat Science in the late 90s. This was before the massive price gouging that has plagued the entire '1992 loving scene' ever since so this one only cost me $10.00 which is very reasonable.
Untill recently I had no idea who made this record, what the names of the tunes are, or what the label RSN even is. What I thought is that this record must have been made with Easygroove or Ratty in mind as its exactly the style of hard jungle tekno I would expect to hear in one of those sets. Tracks A1 and A2 are nearly the same, both very hard hitting jungle tekno with amen loops and crazy acid riffs. Track B1 is simmilar to the A side only is much more sparse and dark where the FM Bass loop takes center stage. Track B2 is a beatless version of B1, its almost as if this artist was begging DJs out there to remix this track as its just asking for it. For a while I had that FM loop as the "greeting" sound my computer plays when its turned on.
For some reason this record is labeled as "trance" here. I was never into trance but perhaps at this time trance sounded like more like 'ardkore and less like trance?
