John Lennon – Mind Games EP

So , from what I am hearing, this EP is the only place to get the near 11 minute version of YOU ARE HERE. The 2 record set, says it is 10 minutes plus, but is actually a little over 5 minutes. Not to mention the EP is Optimal pressed. The 2 album set is GZ Media. BIG DIFFERENCE!

Wow. So lucky to get one of few in my RSD destination. 4 songs but the audio quality and sound stage - and John’s voice make it all worth it. They could have made it a 45 and got even more out of the cuts

I managed to secure a "glow" version by accident. Just grabbed the only copy and got lucky I guess. Anyway, it sounds awesome. Big and bold with no crackle etc. John sounds so alive it makes me dance!

Pleasantly surprised the the audio quality of this record. Wasn't expecting the sound to be as good as it is.

Don't neglect this black vinyl variant because you want (or have already purchased) only the fancy Glow-In-The-Dark John Lennon - Mind Games EP version!

The latter is definitely “chic” to look at. And yes, both sound really wonderful. But ultimately it's the cool, classic black vinyl that makes this E.P. a resounding home run with some of John Lennon's most esteemed songs. Both are among my favorite RSD releases of the year 😊👍👍.

The best sounding record put out by the Lennon estate so far. Looking forward to the full boxset this summer.

Sounds fantastic. Vinyl is flat, pristine, and clean out of the jacket!

Excellent packaging. The sleeve is a cool design and the inner is a nice rice paper sleeve. Glow-in-the-dark typically has noise but my copy is dead quiet.
$29.98 for 4 tracks? That doesn't seem to be a good value. I swore I wasn't going to buy this for value and because I suspect these tracks will all be available at a later date under a full release. But here I am reviewing my copy. RSD marketing got me on "Extremely Limited".
I'm happy I got it in the short-term. Great mastering and a cool package that is apparently low in copies. Time will tell if this is another EP I need to sell off because the full version is worthy of keeping over a partial set in the EP.

What an intimate soundstage. John's vocals pulled up in the mix, but not at the detriment of instrumentation. The Long version of You Are Here is stunning. No female voices echoing John in the chorus. Studio banter on several tracks. Pressing is flat and dead silent. This review for the 180 gram black vinyl version.

Add on: this is also pressed by Optimal. Where as the released full album is pressed by GZ and is not quite audiophile quality.

My copy seems to have paper scraps in the vinyl. Embedded into the actual record. Anyone else got that?
