Edited 7 hours agoWhile the hype on this as well as the US Capitol in Mono box is very high, these releases sound very poor, and are clearly designed more for nostalgia than sound quality. Though, as compared to the original 60s pressings they sound almost identical, this is due to Kevin Reeves' desire to get them "as close as possible". He also compares these Dave Dexter tape remixes done from 3rd generation (at least) tapes to the "Mona Lisa" and calls records "vinyls". No shocker, as anyone who keeps up with these things knows Kevin Reeves is almost universally panned for every release he's done besides this one. If you're nostalgic for your old Beatles records from your childhood, and you don't still have them like I do, then this box is for you. If you care about hearing the Beatles in the best quality available in their original track orders, check out the Giles Martin remixes or the original UK pressings.

Lucked out on this, as no copies were sent to my local dealer in Saskatchewan, so I called a Toronto shop who would have them listed after the weekend. Monday was also their Cyber Monday discount, and I was lucky to order 2 discounted copies at $27 CDN each. Now anyone north of the 49th with remaining stock is selling them for almost $40 CDN!

Sounds pretty damn good!! I feel like they could have done more though, like an innersleeve or maybe an insert a la Now and Then. But what are you gonna do!

Very powerful sound that fills up the room. Paid up the nose for it though at the store I went to, but it’s The Beatles, I couldn’t care about the price tag personally. Compliments the box set very well.
