Notes

Italo house hit that hit the European charts in late 1989 / early 1990. Variations of this release are usually titled 'Rich In Paradise', with 'Going Back To My Roots' as an alternative title, as a house remake of that song (with vocals by Sharon Dee Clarke) is typically the lead track. A version of 'Rich In Paradise' itself is often present on the release as well, either as a double A-side or as a B-side, but even if the track is missing, 'Rich In Paradise' is nearly always mentioned on the cover and labels. This because the backing track for 'Rich In Paradise' is nearly identical to 'Going Back To My Roots'.

The best version of Rich In Paradise is on this release. That's the booming bass line and staccato claps all way through til the piano at the end. I heard DJ Harvey play this at Back to Basics in Leeds in 200?

Bought this on 12 on the back end of hearing it at an illegal warehouse rave in Cambridge in 89 as a 17 year old ... still in the stack.... awesome memories of the late 80s....

I received this record the other day, and sadly it is unplayable. Side A has a gouge in it that jumps everywhere, and side B, although just about playable, has big scratch marks all over it. It definitely is not Good Plus condition. I can send you photos if you like.

One of the best Italo House tracks of that era in my opinion, the vocal and instrumental remixes are excellent on RUMAX 9. Who can forget the legendary "Hey you! Don't be silly!" opening statement and the famous piano loop? ha ha! A definite must have if you like piano house from the late '80's/early 90's.

Absolute monster of a tune, one of the early piano classics.
One of those tunes thats rocked the dance floor - with that awesome instantly recognizable piano loop,great percussion and drum loops, funky bass-line, guitar rift and of course the vocals.
Amazing track - still love it today.
