Green Day – American Idiot

Grabbed this at Walmart today as my local record store closed down :(, GREAT pressing, very punchy. All 4 sides sound amazing outside of some inner groove distortion only on Jesus of Suburbia and a noticeable amount of noise during Whatsername which could be fixed with a wet clean, but im unsure as of now.

1. I am not a Green Day fan.
2. This is the best sounding modern rock album I have ever heard on vinyl.
Unspeakably crunch, heavy, and huge. Billy Joel is in my bedroom stripteasing with a red hot Gibson.

I was lucky enough to get one of these in top condition. I don't have the other European pressing to compare, but the hype with this one is real. I believe you can't enjoy this album better than this release, it's out of this world how good it sounds. Plus the packaging is very nice with the printed inners.

Really well presented disc with excellent sound.

The presentation slip cover is plush but sensible and doesn’t take up too much space. Sleeves are nice quality anti-stat and don’t need replacing.

I wet vacuum cleaned the discs before playing and there was not a single, pop, click or fault anywhere . The discs are also flat with vey low surface noise.

I know it’s from a digital file (as is the MoFi stuff) but if done right it can work and sound is actually very good indeed; it deals out both thunderous bass and drums, but also low volume subtle percussion and vocals too. It is never harsh and fatigue inducing.

It’s a great album musically and they must have had a premonition of how shockingly bad The US government would become in 2025; as what we have now is far worse than what inspired it!!

Great pressing (reissue), clear sound, huge bass, punchy guitar sound. Record itself is flat, clean and dead silent. Only minus is paper sleeves without antistatic protection, but double album for this kind of money is worth buying a couple of new sleeves.

Got from Amazon new. Came with several scuffs all over. Was SUPER warped ! Sending back immediately. Hurts bc it sounds great and is dead silent. But I can't do warp. Wake me up also skips! Prolly just a bad copy we will see when the replacement comes.

Replacement came only slightly warped and still scuffed. Still sounds really nice.

La calidad del booklet es muy buena. En cuanto a sonido suena un poco comprimido, pero no llega a molestar tanto como otros discos producidos para cd's en la epoca del ''loudness war''.

American Idiot is probably the best pop punk album in my opinion and Green Day might be the best Punk band. This album is top notch and the pressing is amazing. I just wish the sleeve was better. I don’t like the paper kind of sleeves. Mine came a little wrinkly but they weren’t damaged. Did this happen to anyone else?

Perfect. This release and Dookie are my forever copies. I'll probably hang onto other pressings I own but I'm not sure I'll ever listen to them again.
