"72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told 'who we are' by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry." – James Hetfield

It’s just as great as the regular version only more Canadian. -
Edited 28 days agoPerfection! Top 5 Metallica record and a very personal album for me! The sound is amazing and crisp, the riffs and tone are crunchy and heavy, and the drums and production sound organic and balanced! it was MEANT to be heard on vinyl! Plus, you can really FEEL Rob's bass! From the extensive album artwork, the color/design of the record, the innovative die-cut gatefold design with striking and vulnerable/personal portraits of Kirk, James, Lars, and Rob, to the texture of the cardstock/jacket marerial, and the music itself, which really comes alive on wax compared to digital! The portraits really capture a sense of vulnerability in their eyes, their age, and their unfiltered honesty, which again, encapsulates 72 Seasons beautifully! James Hetfield simply can never really run out of things to sing about and only sheds more of his layers with this record. I am proud of Metallica for this record. A modern Metallica masterpiece. I love this record, and I love Metallica for creating and releasing it.

Edited 3 months agoMy copy has side C label glued not in the middle but on the side over dead wax area. What a bummer!

I believe it was d that some copies included a limited edition lithograph art print?? Lol doesn’t look like a lithograph to me lol just a cheap cardboard picture 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I finally opened mine and it sounds great! Listened to it on both my vintage Sony Walkman and my brand new professional TASCAM tape decks and it has good levels and nice channel separation. Trujillo's bass also sounded great in the mix!

Great sound quality! Crystal sound, awesome sound amplitude and volume -
Edited 5 months agoPicked this up from Saint Marie Records in Fort Worth, TX on 4/14/23 for the indie retail release Listen Party. Sat on my shelf until today, when I finally cracked it open and spun it on my new player. Sound quality is fantastic! Great pressing and no complaints. Album itself absolutely ROCKS! The black and white portraits on the sleeves are gritty and perfectly capture the essence of the album. The translucent marbled violet vinyl is beautiful, when held up to a bright light source. The guitar picks were included separately by the record store with the purchase of the album.

Edited 6 months ago72 Seasons has not even been out for 2 years and there is already about 14 different color variations on vinyl, non of which are unofficial, so Metallica has had a say with all of them. And many worth up to $300 a piece. I know people say “well don’t buy it then”, but Metallica are worth nearly a billion dollars, how much money do they need? It’s just the pure greed to rip people off when the album is not very good. When the album came out, I ordered 5 copies just to have “most of them”, ever since just more and more keep popping up.
This is what really pisses me off about Metallica and why I was so close to disowning them, switch says a lot since I own all their studio albums on cd and vinyl, the first 4 deluxe box sets, multiple vinyl pressings, some LIVE albums, some cassettes and so on. I’ve already spent hundreds of dollars in the past for “decent” seats at their concerts. I’m getting tired to ing these guys taking all my money when they haven’t even put out a great album since the 80s. They could have at least put out the color variations for their early albums and not just a generic album that’s only a year and a half old.
Shame on Metallica, considering the fact they were once a DIY band putting out classic after classic, not for the greed. No doubt Cliff Burton is rolling in his grave -

Wow, this vinyl is really very good, I think someone paid attention to it, I also have a CD and this vinyl sweeps it away, it has excellent dynamics and everything is beautifully open, this is how printing should look in the 21st century ... I highly recommend it.. .
