This 12" contains 18 minutes of sheer trance pleasure.

Both sides are progressive, but Nickson mix has been tightly engineered as would be expected and cleverly alterates from a original which could have comfortably stood on its own.

Nicksons remix shades it for me as its a little more dancefloor friendler (IMO) than the original. The remix incorperates several eclectic breakdowns which work in harmony with the tune rather than cause a loss of momentum and he also makes effective use of a subtle vocal which adds another dimension.

As you would come to expect from Anjuna, another flawless release, this tune can stand the test of time and should be a fixture in any collection.

Canned in 2004 by just about everyone and anyone, this 12" will continue to be played and ed for many years to come, a true classic in my eyes.

‘Kallocain’ possesses one of the great trance melodies, the kind that serve to shape and define both the meaning and direction of the genre as a whole. Despite the Original Mix being one of my all-time favourite productions, it is actually rather difficult to convey to the reader exactly what makes it work so well. Nevertheless, it only takes one listen to understand just how beautiful said melody is; powerful yet warm and glistening, melancholy yet uplifting at the same time, ‘Kallocain’ really is something to be heard.
