I think that adding to Original Mix "phase" effect on HF part of the track is why it was rarely played. I cant listen to it because of that. More of a defect than an effect for me.

If you are looking for a trance track that will take you on a journey from start to finish, the original version of Epic is your track.
The Above & Beyond remix is more uplifting and they do a verry good job remixing this but it doesn't have the same dark atmosphere as the original track.
Check out the unreleased remixes from Lost Cities, Hidden Sun and the Rusch & Beman remix also if you can find them, really awesome stuff.

Epic is neither the first project of Christian Rusch & Greg Murray nor the last, but it's most certailny their best! The original mix is the part that makes this track live up to it's name, but the Above & Beyond Remix is in fact slightly better. Such a simple melody and yet so brilliant and breathtaking! Definately one of my favourite trance tunes of 2003.
