A beautifully recorded album for a private press. This cut sounds as good as you can imagine with 3 dimensional transparency so good you will swear Gary is recording it in your home. Has that analog tube magic us record collectors and music audiophiles live for.
The songs are top notch and bring to mind a touch of Nick Drake, Skip Spence, Led Zeppelin III or battle of evermore style freaky folk and Elliot Smith who must have heard this album? Who knows?
Some real stunners here. I mean absolute drop dead masterpieces like unable to fly, cookoo and lead track Smokey and the Tom waits style down on the farm. Just wow!! Anyway, don’t hesitate if you see an original press. You will cherish this. -

my dude joe_p who worked at the Newbury Comics main warehouse i think during the 00s said a coworker knew what this LP was, maybe around the time Drag City dropped the reissue t during the peak of Freak Folk (only tru millenial freax will even know what I mean), knew of some sealed og's in the building, which makes sense given CT-MA proximity, and gifted to fellow workers as a holiday bonus to said heads who would appreciate it.
And probably around the time of Gary's 2009 Drag City LP, my late great friend Jeff Breeze had Mr. Higgins come into WMBR's Pipeline! studio to record a session that was excellent and probably is on file somewhere, maybe the same day I believe Gary played at TT The Bear's in Cambridge and I remain bummed I missed. -
One of the best sounding albums I own. Smoke a big one and settle in for some great music. Incredible.

I do actually hear the psychedelic element, it's in the way the chords are reverberating throughout the songs. Perfect album to end a psychedelic (sonic) experience. It plays like a hippie reminiscing about the times he's had in the 60s, around a campfire with his buddies. But it's not acoustic, there's lots of quirky chords and instruments playing against each other, just in a more subtle way. -

Incredible! Can't agree with the other reviewer. This is solid and consistent all the way thru with soft stoney vocals and some fine cello, keys, slide guitar, mandolin and flute creating a very laid back psychedelic feel! One of the great lost and found private press lps. Smoke some herb and enjoy!! -
Unfortunately the only great thing for this album is Higgins' beard and the title. Its not lyrically or instrumentally impressive and wasn't particularly influential for its time or now. To me the work is almost entirely derivative. Some private press should remain that way!
