Brown, orange, and light pink - this is a long album but its honestly so consistent. Dan does amazing vocals on this album from track 1 to 15. the first 6 tracks are all perfection. from pop hits like "tighten up" to zz topish instrumentals like "black mud." this album has a ton of diversity from the slower ballad tracks but the best ones are when they rock out with some nice bluesy alt rock. is it their best album? i don't think so but it is a really good album with hit after hit 8/10! -
Edited 6 months agoMy gawd. This sounds absolutely amazing! Amazing! Mine is numbered. Slight warp to disks but this is pinnacle mastering and stereo presentation. Black background and silent….! Thank you Black Keys and Chris Bellman! Wow wow wow! You are in the studio. So much space…everything sounds real. Wonder if from tape? Wow. If not they really got the digital right.

I have one, but just noticed it's not numbered, nor does it have hype stickers. It is still sealed, but I assume the contents are the same as it is the white cover and is super thick. Is the non numbered one a different release or were some numbered and some not?

My pressing looked and sounded great. Nice and flat discs, sheen and all. The sound was good but then again have no other vinyl copies to compare this to though I would’ve rather had the extra tracks on a 7” or 10” separately. -

On the original CD of Brothers, "The Only One" is mastered from a lossy MP3 source. However, on this remastered edition, the song is truly lossless. This edition is a new, unique mastering by Ryan Smith, but the sound is very similar to the original edition mastered by Brian Lucey; this one has a little bit more midrange and might be slightly louder (by about 0.3 dB). If you don't own this album on CD, I would recommend this version, because "The Only One" is truly lossless. (The bonus track "Black Mud Part II" is mastered from a lossy source, but given the rough, experimental jam nature of the song, it's likely the only available source was lossy to begin with.) -

I’m not sure if it’s me, but with the song, “The Only One” it kind of sounds like a bad MP4 file from 2005. It was probably sourced from a digital master. Comparing this to the original 2010 version which was cut by the legendary Chris Bellman, the original pressing sounds like a powerhouse full of dynamic sounds. The 2020 version doesn’t beat the original version. -
