Leon Bridges – Gold-Diggers Sound

There are some beautiful moments on this record and some clever production, heightening the pop-soul vibe. I have no issues with noise. The low frequencies are indeed louder than normal, as others pointed out, but not bothersome at all to my ears. The packaging is also quite nice. Found on sale for $13.50!

After reading the reviews of all the variants, I deviated from purchasing the gold variant. That was the best decision.

My copy is dead quiet on both sides & sounds amazingly balanced.

Hopefully they’ll grab Comin’ Home. Now that’s a poorly pressed record.

Horrible pressing. Surface noise is absolutely ridiculous. Even after 3 wet cleanings. Subpar mastering. Low end is waaaaay overdone. And I’m a basshead! Here it just gets in the way of the music. I turned down the bass only to find the mids and highs are low in volume. Nice presentation of cover, inner sleeve, and booklet. Great music but I’ll keep listening to the digital version.

Returning to Amazon.

Has a bunch of debri/dust pressed into the grooves. Also has persistent left channel (and some right channel) surface noise/distortion. Edge warped on Side A. My copy is pretty lousy, which is disappointing because I really enjoy this album.

Great album.. Pressing is not great tho... LOTS of surface noise, especially on Right channel on track one. Even after cleaning 4 times... Gold Target Pressing..

Echoing the reviews here, terrible sound quality. Ran it through the ultrasonic cleaning machine twice and still pops and click galore. Pretty ironic that the paper sleeve is about High fidelity, lol

As others have said, tons of surface noise. Also unnecessary bass heavy; I think it muddles the vocals. Good album though.

I've had this for months and finally opened it last weekend. I love the packaging so much. the booklet was def printed on some quality paper. I wish it was a gatefold release but the overall sound and look of the record makes up for it.

I def feel like this was one of the more underrated and overlooked releases from last year.
