It looks like the artwork was done by the same artist on Bobbi Humprey's Fancy Dancer. -

Love this release. Record has clear sound with all the dynamics. Perfect listening everytime I play it. I bought it sealed from Japan. Imagine opening sealed record after 50 years after its release. Love the vibe here. A MUST HAVE :) -

Finally got my hands on a copy of this excellent album. I think this is the copy I have, closely matches variant 3, just don’t have the #41 on side one or the last 2 and #86 in runout on side two, but everything else looks right. It’s still in the original shrink and does not have the translucent sticker on the front either. Sounds excellent and glad I got a decent copy before they go extinct in the marketplace. -

The transition from I Summer into the stanky synth-bass of Don't Call Me N* Whitey will jolt you the first time you hear it. This alone is worth the price of ission. Just a great record from start to finish! -
So far, this whole series sounds great. That makes sense, because it appears that all of the BNLA Revivals series have the same mastering as the excellent BNLA 999 and BNLA 999 Encore series.
In other words, if you already have one, you probably don’t need the other. The discs, themselves, are identical, and the spines of the CD’s (not the obi strips) bear the original 999 series catalog numbers. -

Very interesting record by Gene Harris and actually my favorite of his from his later period, kind of spacey relative to his other records on Blue Note, similar to Eddie Henderson Sunburst or Herbie Hancock Headhunters/Sextant/Thrust. His subsequent records on Blue Note tend to be more straight ahead jazz-funk in the style of, say, Donald Byrd's Places and Spaces. Though not entirely representative, really, if you buy one Gene Harris record from the mid to late 1970s, this is the one to get. Definitely worth it.
