Various – Lost Highway

So I'm dilly like this but I just like to run into things in the wild mostly. Obviously I could have bought here but I've been flipping through movie soundtracks for years before I stumped upon this in a store. Was the last one in the stack as well. What an awesome pressing. Every single song sounds tremendous. I'm glad I found it!

I have bought my fair share of duffers over the years but must have struck lucky with this one for once. Waxwork vinyl seems to have a bit of a reputation for being a bit noisy but there's hardly any clicks or pops on this one. Great pressing on my copy. The remastering is a noticeable improvement but not overcooked. As someone who owns both this and the 2016 MOV issue, I would take this any day of the week over MOV which sounds a bit flat in comparison. , Waxwork is just so much better sounding, in low level detail, bass and dynamics.

Snagged a used copy of this the other day at the record store downtown. Dynamic sound, very ominous across the whole thing. A must-have for Lynch fans.

Pretty certain that most of the copies being sold here are NOT this pressing at this point but the one that showed up a couple years ago with different runouts

As usual with Waxwork this is a gorgeous release visually, rlly dig the new artwork and the colorway is stunning. Also as usual with waxwork they really ate up this remaster, sounds super crisp. The Badalamenti and Rammstein tracks specifically sounded fantastic. Unfourtunately also as usual with waxwork its a bit noisy, my copy has some hissing and popping throughout, mostly on side B. It isn’t unlistenable but if you’re easily bothered by surface noise I’d go for the MOV press, their pressings are usually very quiet. Not a dealbreaker for me, just a minor annoyance. otherwise this is a killer release, I hope they reissue Mulholland Drive for its 25th anniversary next year.

sounds fantastic really, picked up at local store in 2025, probably a 22/23 pressing apparently.

seeing this in the theaters the weekend it came out and is still one of my favorite movies David ever did and I'm pretty sure the soundtrack has a LOT to do with it for me personally. This sounds so so good! Destroys my original CD that I've played so many times that it's not even worth playing anymore! But great pressing all and all I am interesed in the difference from the MOV pressing but all seems like this sounds better in ways so think I'll just stick with this one even though a numbered pressing is always tempting...

Rest easy Mr Lynch. This remains one Hell of a Legendary soundtrack (and, of course, film). He made an indelible mark on the entertainment industry, pop culture, and the underground community everlasting.

Hi there guys!!! Have anyone compared this version to the MOV version? If so, I would like to know your opinion about it. I´m so tempted on getting the soundtrack, but don´t know which version to choose.
