Notes
Consisting of the complete "Who's Afraid Of (The Art Of Noise)" album, plus selected tracks from the seminal "Into Battle" record and the classic "Moments In Love" 12" single, "Daft" gathers the most important releases of the band's ZTT era on one CD.
The quotation marks around the release title on the front cover, spine and disc (yet notably absent from the back cover) may actually be part of the title, but since there is no confirmation of that, on Discogs the quotes are treated as only offsetting the title, not as ironic or denoting an actual quotation.
Track 1, "Love", is the track called "Moments In Love (Beaten)" on the original singles, it's just mastered here with a few extra seconds of silence at the end.
Track 16, "(Three Fingers Of) Love", is the track called "Love Beat" on the original singles, but here has the spoken intro edited out.
Many editions are mastered with left-channel noise at 0:55 in "Donna", causing an audible glitch.

Hey!
Can I say something?
I've added my new Hi-res SACD booklet scans, last few pages not found in the normal CD booklets.
Another SNAPSHOT of The History of Noise
Without The Art Of Noise, there would be no Qubism and no 2294 -

At the very same time The Art of Noise went from quintet to trio, and decided to leave ZTT and Trevor Horn's sphere of influence to become a real band, ZTT released this compilation on CD.
It certainly was a way to gather the band's main ZTT releases on CD as a all-in-one package (less expensive and certainly to maximize the potential 70 minutes of the then-recent digital music format).
But, as the delightful liner notes clearly suggests, it was also the expression of Horn & Morley feeling somewhat "betrayed" and wanting to show by comparison (to the trio's "In Visible Silence" LP on China Records) how The Art Of Noise was originally something completely different : a non-band of non-rock-stars, making non-music with a typically British non-sense of humor (hence the compilation's title).
This otherwise obsolete release is a testimony of these feelings, now long gone, but yet crucials in the short creative history of this essential act that was The Art Of Noise, that is... a spanner in the work.
Note : of course, this wasn't exempt of caveats, like Diversion One's later version replacing the original version of Beatbox from the albumette, and a completely messed-up tracks order, not to mention the useless variant title for Love Beat. (Track 14). And some bizarrely mastered tracks now & then.
The Art of Messing Around.
