Great album, but this pressing is horrible. I hear terrible distortion, a muddied soundstage, and a general lack of clarity.

I pulled this one out for a relaxing afternoon listen after not having spun it since it's release week.
I'm honestly surprised to come here and see so many negative reviews. My record sounds no way near as bad as it's being made out here. There is a little bit of surface noise but it's not that noticeable. I have no skipping, no warping, nothing. I'm really confused reading the reviews here because my experience is very, very different.
It's also interesting to read that this pressing is limited to 3k, yet 4.7k have it. -
Edited 4 months agoI heard bad things about the sound quality of this album. Luckily, i picked up this version and was very positively surprised! Great sound! This is the version to go with! -
Strange... but my barcode is associate with an other version of this release (the 2020 UK version), but the number in the deadwax indicate this GZ pressing.
Great gatefold cover, absolutely dead quiet vinyl, good mastering (not stellar). One complaint : I have a small imperfection at the begining of track 2 who involved a few small pops. Not a big deal, but more quality control is required in the record industry in general -
Edited one year agoI have the same runouts but the MADE IN CZECH REPUBLIC white sticker on back. Does this mean GZ went and pressed their own copies?

Good solid album from Khruangbin, solid pressing. Mine was a little dirty out of the sleeve, but nothing a decent brush and felt would remove. -

Anyone else get major surface noise on the opening track "First Class" for about the first 30 seconds?
Thankfully, the rest of the tracks play smoothly. Love the bass lines on this whole record - shame about the pressing quality. -

Just got the most recent 2022 repress of this. It’s fantastic. Plays super quiet with very little surface noise. SQ is great and the sound is punchy and dynamic. -

Bought this in December 2022. It sounds surprisingly great - especially considering the reviews here. Dynamic and warm. No pops.
It has a sticker saying "Made in Czech Republic"
