Dexter Gordon – One Flight Up

Must totally agree the sound on this pressing rivals my best three blind mice/acoustic sounds UHQR pressings. Outstanding music done right.

This is the single best sounding Tone Poet, and over all record I have ever heard

My copy was exceptionally quiet and sounded very nice. Mastering is beautiful like the music.

a nice cooker. art taylor and niels-henning orsted are some of the most uniquely pleasing rhythm section; them paired with byrd and dexter creates an atmosphere of delight. the rendition of "darn that dream" is sublime. kenny drew is super blue in his playing; all in all the lineup makes for a solid blue note session. very enjoyable. the tape looks and sounds amazing

Returned my copy due some light noises when "Darn That Dream" is ending, but new replace have the same problem, is a problem in production? someone else having this issue?

This is great! But! The recording itself is the real treasure here! At the moment I am playing the 2015 BN75 reissue and that one allready sounds wonderful! This TP of course tops it with more clarity. It must be a joy for KG to work with such a stellar recording! Beautiful!

This is the best sounding Tone Poet I’ve heard. Most TP sound very good but this one is something special.

Beautiful recording of a great quintet. The Dexter Gordon sax is so melodic and the Donald Byrd trumpet is clear as a bell. My pressing has a slight edge warp and so I used my Record Pi. Came out perfectly flat.

Taken aback at how brilliant this sounds. Like it was recorded yesterday.
