Mine's not warped or too noisy but feels very quiet and a bit distant overall. Purchased my copy in summer of '22. YMMV, I guess.

Don't know if this is a new run of these, but just received a brand new copy with matching matrices... ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS. Few words of note...
I had to tear it out of its paper inner sleeve rather than scuff it, then replaced with mofi inner.
Needed a good wet clean and destat.
After that? Incredible. Flat, centred, a great master job, no surface noise except one or three faint clicks in between two songs.

I acquired today a first US pressing, and I must say that I prefer this Kevin Gray cut, the overall clearness in sound is specially notable in "Dada Was Here" which is my favorite song in here. -

a very good reissue, compared to the original french edition on barclay, the sound is more dynamic and clear, for a reasonable price. -
Edited 2 years agoAs much as i love early Soft Machine ,this so called remaster isnt a remaster at all, its a huge downgrade, for volume one and two, stay clear of these remasters andsearch out : The Soft Machine Collection aka Architects of Space Time aka Volume One and Two, It will be a whole new experience for you if you are a fan ! -

I have no comparison for this, but I am very pleased, as per usual, with what Kevin Gray accomplishes here. Clear vinyl pressing is flat and centered with very little noise. Very similar in presentation and sound quality to my Soft Machine self-titled Sundazed Kevin Gray pressing, raw but transparent, if such a description can even be applied. -
The definitive pressing of this classic that is their best in my humble opinion. A major classic
