I think I paid €15 for this on Amazon, sounds fine to me. I have Message In A Box too but must buy the A&M first edition CD masters as I sold them years ago like a clown. -
Edited one year agoOf the many Police compilations, this is the best-sounding with the exception of Regatta De Blanc, which sounds awful. Something went seriously wrong on that album. The 2003 remaster of RDB is the superior edition. -
I sold this after comparing each to the originals. It's a good set if you don't have all the albums and want them in one set - or don't want to play the pressings game. But they're not the best version of each title. -
This is going to repress soon so I will avoid the market for now. I think it's going to hit the shelves in Q1 2022.

I got the box some time ago at a very good price, because here it was very expensive. I only opened the flexible , as I have several versions of the studio and simple records, I am worried about being pressed by optimal -
kinda cool tho I don't understand why it's "limited" there's more like a overabondance of it even it seems, just looking at the price I got it (free)
I guess it's just another marketing trick -
I cant recommend this release for numerous reasons.... the records are pressed at Optimal so theres only a small chance all 6 are going to be defect free and so it proves in my case... Synchronicity and Ghost have non fill, Zenyatta is scratched and a piece of rim vinyl from Reggatta broke off in the inner and put a nasty scratch into track one. Weirdly my Outlandos is Ok! So thats 4 out of the 5 studio efforts with audible nasties straight away. Then you have to accept the originals sound considerably better mastered and you could buy M/NM examples for alot less than this boxset and all your left with is a bonus disc thats nothing to lose sleep over not having. It COULD and SHOULD have been incredible and instead its a shoddy quality rip off. Ymmv

Edited 4 years agoHas anyone had issues with Atlandos de’ Amour with the box set? I’ve been through 6 copies and all six have a locked groove type skip in the middle of the guitar solo on Peanuts. I’m still looking for a copy that does not have this. I have ordered from Amazon, Target, and Walmart.

At a local dealer in i have found the LP 1, 3, 4 and 5 maybe from this Box separate. Barcode and cat no. is matching.
All are with the "Half Speed Master" paper slip which wraps around the spine and with Shrink Wrap.
As i can see here the LPs in this Box are with Shrink Wrap, right?
Are the LPs from this Box sold/available individual?
I only have found https://www.discogs.sitioby.com/de/The-Police-Outlandos-DAmour/release/13549135 which could be like my copy, but the pictures there doesn't show the paper slip around the spine.

Regarding a comment that was posted about one of the tracks on the 'Flexible Strategies' LP. I can officially confirm that Truth Hits (Remix) was sourced from the original studio master tape (I've seen the actual production master tape dated 16/05/83). All songs on the 6LP release were sourced from the original master tapes in UMC's UK Tape Library, where all the original UK album and single release master tapes are stored. These were then sent to Miles at Abbey Road. The speed on Truth Hits (Remix) you referred to, was the correct speed on the Master Tape. I can clarify there is no vinyl transfers on the release.
