Truth be told, I bought this because of the version of The Promise. Everything else is/was a bonus to me. So, this turned out to be quite an unexpected gift. Sound quality is excellent - clean and clear. Separation between Springsteen and backup vocals is excellent - take The Fever as an example of that. Buy with confidence.

A fantastic must have for any Boss fan of pre-The Rising. I put it up there with The Promise compilation album. The Nebraska version of Born in the USA is awesome.

Has anyone A/B this against the original vinyl pressing? Would love to hear which sounds better, or if there is any difference.

No problem with the pressing. Actually, it's dead quiet and a pleasure to listen to. Most of the songs here are absolutely amazing. It always puzzled me how so many Brice tracks were actually left out of the official albums. This guy is a genius, especially his work up until 1988.

Waited a long long time for this to be reissued especially after prices on Discogs for originals!!
Fantastic pressing super clean perfect sounding well worth the wait. Enjoy those originals. -

My pressing sounds quite muffled... Not much high end. A little disappointing as this is a fairly pricey record. Anyone else experience anything similar? -

Bruce Springsteen popped up for the first time on in New Jersey at the beginning of the 1970s. Accompanied by his dashing E Street Band, he initially sounded like a cross between Bob Dylan and the early Tom Waits. The strengthening of his sound delivered the masterpiece Born To Run (1975), which received rave reviews because of the Phil Spector-like grandeur and raw lyrics. Nine years later, Springsteen broke with the pumped-up stadium rock sound of Born In The U.S.A. around the world. In the meantime, he also wrote excellent acoustic albums like Nebraska and The Ghost Of Tom Joad. Springsteen, who grew up in a working-class family, never forgot his background. His album The Rising from 2002 is considered one of the most beautiful musical responses to 9/11. In 2006, Springsteens career back a striking turn. On We Shall Overcome, he played rough folk songs, written or announced by the American folkartiest Pete Seeger.
