My fav Fax releases are usually around Atom Heart, VictorSol, Tetsu I productions as my eternal number one +N Plane will be I think.
But Cymatic Scan comes with a quality that's new to me. A little nasty thing building up next to me. Overall a well dosed little trip.

My first encounter with the work of Bill Laswell came when I entered a record store circa early 1990's and picked up a double CD entitled Axiom ambient. Ever since then, I have been intrigued by the work of this prolific and eclectic artist who spans so many genres including drum n' bass, ambient and dub. The music on Fax with Bill Laswell is well worth looking into, there is some real immersive and pretty deep stuff there, including this one.

I have the FAX release from 1994 with the cover and standard gold-on-black printing on the CD. The CD insert lists one track as is listed here on the page; however, the CD itself has 6 tracks - 5 of 10 minutes apiece, the 6th at 11:10. This is the same as the re-release of Cymatic Scan on Laswell's label a year later. Does anyone have a copy of the FAX CD that can confirm the number of tracks on the CD?
