Peech Boys – Don't Make Me Wait

So glad to finally have a copy of this one. Hardly ever pops up. Here is the ORIGINAL domestic 12" containing the classic accapella!

What happened to the ORIGINAL vocal mix? It never seems to get a proper re-issue.
This alternate mix is a bit vanilla. Missing all the delays on the claps.

Maybe the tape got lost?

This alternate mix is Kool, but pales in comparison to the OG mix....also---Where is the accapella?

The only other place to get the acapella is on the 2nd Promo 12". (not the 45 RPM promo)

Whenever I stumble across this listing I bristle as this is not a "highly over-rated pirate pressing" but a UK record label who licensed a number of other tracks and also released a couple of singles by The RAH Band. This is not only legitimate but also charted at 49 in the UK charts. I suspect that the BRMB - responsible for ing those charts would not have counted a bootleg.

There is also version of this with different label layout i.e. the bottom line is 'West End Records...' and not the line with the date.

On top of that, the B-side on my copy is totally off-centered, making it sound horrible. Possibly has affected other copies.

Label misprint: the a cappella version is actually 4:32 long and not 3:00.

Highly over-rated pirate pressing. These two alternative versions were released as white-label bootlegs BEFORE this, making this a pirate of a pirate. The "alternative" mixes are comprised of amateurish (IMO) extra production ADDED TO/on-top-of the original Larry Levan/Michael DeBenedictus production. Save your money and get one of the legit pressings on U.S. West End, U.S. 4th & B'Way, or any of the legit, licensed European pressings from the 80's.

What a way to start off the summer, this dance track debuted on the black singles charts on 6/5/82 coming in at #89 for 5 weeks. Not bad for an underground house song that was made exclusively for night clubs. R. Bernard Fowler belts away like a soulful man in this song, especially when he says "I WANT YOU". Give credit to DJ Larry Levan for bringing these guys together and giving them a gig. Otherwise, these songs might never have even been released to the public.
