Blues Magoos – Psychedelic Lollipop

This pressing is so hot! Had an go go this years ago and don't it being this pumped, great job by Wes Garland! Must say this is a killer psych garage lp we tons of vocal and music attitude and hold its head up with all the usual suspects. Well done Sundazed again!

Mercury mono LPs were often pressed in stereo only; it was in 1966 and they were already phasing out mono so to eliminate the expense of two different pressing runs, and to ease stocking issues at retailers. The 2/6 designation was common on many Mercury, Smash and Phillipos records. It is not a "mispress". The Columbia (Record Club) still wanted to release mono discs, so those were deliberate.

The jacket and specifically the low res cover art is MOV of yore and could be alot better but theyve made up for it with a flat and clean and beautiful looking/playing disc. Sounds fresh albeit this is far from audiophile of recording. A fine reissue on the whole imo.

This pressing sounds mono to my ears. Not stereo. A miss print?

I bought this around the year 2000 too. It is a fantastic sounding pressing, if you clean the record. Especially with an ultrasonic cleaner.

This does sound fantastic. All around great sound and super quiet pressing.

Found a NM copy at my local record store. They asked $8 so I gave it a try. This is a really cool garage/psychedelic album!! My copy is dead quiet and sounds really, really good. I do not have another copy to compare, unfortunately, but the sound is punchy and detailed.

The hype sticker claims that this album is mastered from the original reels, but who knows whether the lacquer was cut from a digital file or not. Some records have flat and sterile sound so you can tell. With this album, I personally cannot, but at the end of the day, who cares if the sound is great!

This is a keeper and a final copy of this album for me.

Just found one of these with no writing or tears, still in shrink wrap, and with an un-torn original Sarah Vaughan inner sleeve. It has a monaural cover and monaural labels but it plays in stereo. It sounds great to me, love the stereo mix. Trippy, cool, hilarious LP.

the best sounding is the oldays cd from japan. its a KILLER

I picked this one up for $3 at a local shop. Typical late 60's "psychedelic sound".
