Nina Simone – Little Girl Blue

Anybody knows how this new version compares to previous versions?

Wonderful pressing, dead silent, voice and instruments all sound amazing, highly recommended.

It is very noisy. One of the noisiest newly pressed records I have in my collection. Unfortunately, otherwise than that it sounds brilliant.

Wow, mind-blowing mastering by Kevin Gray. When you get a pressing as good as this, it is a stark reminder of why we love to listen to vinyl records.

Cover has the same banner across the bottom and says "Stereo" in the upper right corner. Labels are just like the mono, but they are blue and, of course, also say stereo. Run out: UPRM - 4298 - 4S R
Didn't want to try to create something that is already there, and I don't know all of the details around it.

Some light surface noise that does not distract from your listening. Not really my kind of tunes, but this really is an all timer that will draw you in. I end up focusing on the lyrics and am always surprised when the record ends.

I don’t have an OG to compare, but I’m so glad I picked this up. This sounds absolutely RIDICULOUS. The bass is massive, but the piano still cuts through and Nina’s voice is so detailed it’s like you’re sitting right next to her. Vinyl is clean with barely any noise. High praise on this one.

Is this another kevin gray mastering? Anyone know? Words words

I was afraid to buy from JazzWax Records,i could not find anything else..I red some comments about this pressing on net and i decided to try ...All i can say Wowww sounds amazing,no cracks no pops ext.Very good in details...Happy happy with my purchase...

This is a really nice pressing, and still priced well too. The vinyl is very quiet and the instruments sound fantastic. I’d read that Nina’s voice is panned left, and the piano, bass and drums are panned to the right, which is true. So, I wasn’t sure how I’d take to that. But a few things:
1. The instruments aren’t panned too hard, and are heard in the centre and lightly in the right speaker, while Nina’s voice is more distinctly left. With mono, I’m sure the voice would sound more full, but the sound here is so clear and full regardless that one is lost in it immediately - and it sounds quite good;
2. clarity and strength of the instruments is so good. Because of that, it feels like everything, voice and instrument, need their own place in the soundscape.
3. A little novelty: there are a few instrumentals on Side B, and for these the piano (played by Nina) locate over to the left channel. This works amazing! The mix is great and really showcase Nina’s piano grandeur. B1 and B5 are as delightful as anything on the album. It’s the Nina show! For value, this is an absolutely great pressing.
