Pearl Jam's fourth studio album, released in 1996 and officially reissued in 2016 on vinyl.
Both CD and vinyl copies of this release included an inserted set of 9 "Polaroid" images, each image with the lyrics and credits for one song printed on the back as well as a serial number for that specific insert.
There were 4 sets of images, each set's images had serial numbers ending with the letter corresponding to that set:
"C", "O", "D" and "E".
The cover art is identical regardless of which set of images was included so when purchasing this album, the buyer wouldn't know which set they had until opening it.
Cassette copies were issued with 9 different cover images.
The US set 9 cover variations.

buyer beware, most copies of this tape are unplayable unless your tape deck has lots of torque -
Just found a copy at my local of this pressing. Sounds great. The packaging is a bit oversized and doesn't fit my outer protection sleeves, but otherwise it's a nice addition to my library and it the vinyl sounds nice. Not even the regular static problem with a lot of newer stuff.

Edited 2 months agoNot really sure what all the fuss is about. Sounds pretty good to me. It's not an audiophile record, or recording for that matter, but aside from a bit of sibilance here and there, it sounds exactly as I'd expect it so sound. No warps or quality issues.

I came across this copy at a great price in a bundle deal so I couldn't leave it behind. I'd never heard the studio version of Present Tense, only live versions on a few bootleg Cd's I owned and let me tell you I got chills hearing this for the first time on vinyl. For that alone this album is worth it even if it's a bit disted and in my opinion not one of the strongest of their early releases. Presentation wise it's stunning and sturdy and luckily my vinyl play without issues and are flat. -

Quality pressing. I like the coke bottle colour. Definitely not clear vinyl tho. Almost blue/green. That aside gatefold and inners are of the highest quality and something PJ releases seem to excel at. -

This record is perfect for this media. More than the vast mayority. Really incredible.. -
Like others, my copy is very warped. Plays ok but hard to watch the black circle spin. I returned for second copy but it was also warped. Hopefully PJ does a better reissue for this one soon -

Edited one year agoI agree with most of the reviews of this vinyl... [Terrible] sounds as bad as I this album sounded on CD in the day... I guess I have on vinyl ... but "whats" the point. [PJ might want to actually have someone Interpret "what they think it sounds like" to the professionals]... [ all PJ Vinyl sounds like a cassette compression-horridness high midrange]... Technics SL1200MKIII/Rega 301b/Blue Point No.2
