My first collection of Studio One material from the Soul Jazz label, and it won't be the last. This one definitely focuses on the classics, some the best known songs/artists from the vast Studio One catalog are present and ed for, but there's so much out there, it's really just the tip of the iceberg. I'm pleased with this pressing. Sound quality is solid throughout, and the wax is flat and quiet. My copy was purchased new and plays nice and clean with no noticeable surface noise. -

I get some vocal distortion on a few tracks. Other than it sounds great. -

Sounds fine. Tunes are great. Especially for colored vinyl. Didn't receive the promised DL code with mine, not that that is a big deal to me. -

Pressing sounds fantastic! Studio One releases are often perfect and this is no exception; deep, heavy bass and great dynamics. Vinyl is flat, dead silent, and flawless! This is an amazing set of songs and should be in any reggae/dub fan’s collection. Highly recommended! -

I have a copy of this Soul Jazz "Studio One Classics" 2x LP, and I'm very satisfied overall with the purchase. It's a brilliant compilation of early Studio One tunes with excellent sound quality and decent enough packaging. I guess that would be my only gripe is that the jacket doesn't tell you much about the music besides the track titles and artists. No original release date, no information about the artists, any little thing like that would have been nice for someone new to Studio One. I also purchased a new and sealed copy and found that there were no printed inserts, just plain white sleeves. So that points to this being a newer reissue as another commenter mentioned. Either way it's an excellent compilation album! -

There was a repress of this item. I purchased it new and it came without a slipcase.
