Fun in Acapulco is the nineteenth album by American singer and musician Elvis Presley, released on RCA Victor Records in mono and stereo, LPM/LSP 2756, in November 1963 – the November 1 date is disputed. It is the soundtrack to the 1963 film of the same name starring Presley. Recording sessions took place at Radio Recorders in Hollywood on January 22 and 23, 1963; and at RCA Studio B in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 26 and 27, 1963, we worked on the Movie "Tickle Me".. It peaked at number three on the Top LP's chart. The album, along with the accompanying film, would be Presley's last release before the arrival of Beatlemania.

This is a MONO first edition with Master's Voice dog logo on the top of the LP...Released in 1963 Elvis fans got a bonus of TWO additional songs that were not in the movie...Oh joy! It was a typical Elvis fluff flick with cliff diving and Elvis working and singing in a nightclub to get by as he looked svelte and debonair all the time...Highlight for me (aside from the fairly pedestrian music) was his lovely to look at co-star...Ursula Andress...Nice...Oh yea, who could not love listening to "Bossa Nova Baby"... -
The record sounds amazingly good given to the age. In addition the cover is made of thick cardboard! Inexpensive but exceptional good! 😎

My 1S Indianapolis pressing stereo sounds so good, I'm impressed! This is a super fun soundtrack all the way through and the original sound of the instruments, vocals and various chorus are just great, and we're going back to 1963 here. This has better sound quality that some of the stuff put out as original 70's studio albums. More air, sharper details, just great! -

Edited 8 years agoPossibly his singingest soundtrack , his voice is much better than on the May of 1963 sessions ; obviously someone cared and provided excellent session men and relevant instruments to the movie story . Elvis delivers a swinging new hit single , actually a revival of a nonhit for the clovers, Bossa Nova Baby; and an astonishing new song by Don Robertson , Margarita . At some point checkout better versions of I Think
I'm gonna like it here and The Bullfighter was a Lady , but sit back and enjoy Elvis.
