Sound quality is poor on this release. Pressing is the usual shitty / noisy RCA crap they dished up in the late 80s, till they stopped pressing vinyl records in mid 90s. I normally love Herbie’s mastering, but this record is really off - bloated bass and very poor definition. It may well have been the masters he worked off, but while this record was a huge hit, it hasn’t dated well - at least from a production standpoint. None of the additional mixes add anything to this release. Stick with the main mix B1.

The track on the A side appears to actually be Infinity Sane Remix, despite what label says.

Christ MP3 only and garbage versions is this what music has become...i know where they should stick it....
anyhow theres a great version on the CD Planet Pacific from 1990 I bought back in the day it reminds me of the Speed Ball mix of Who's Law Is It Anyway....Acid driven and sounds very different than the 1990 CD single release.....

Infinity was the name of a rave that a friend of Guru Josh promoted. His friend gave him a few hundred quid to record a track to be played at the parties, and Guru Josh came up with this. The melody on the track was adapted from a line from one of Guru Josh's rock tracks as part of Jesus Cries Wolf.

A RELEASE OF BEAUTY IS A JOY FOR... ALL INFINITY.

Never thought I'd live to see this day.
To hear this blast from the past featuring two extra (previously unheard) original mixes, dating back to 1990... time for guru, indeed.

Received the original CD five track pressing of the USA version, created for promotional use only. Only. Moments ago.
Just imagine, as I am holding in my hands... my very own Holy Grail to treasure for all eternity?!
Three versions, as ususal, but with a few more than nice little extras tagging along.
Track four means 'Much Much More'.
One before last, saving the best 'till (b)last?

                  Ah, yes!
The shape of things to come: 5 has always been my magic number, anyway.
Switching to mad mix mode, better fasten your seatbelts, ladies & gentlemen !
Saxophone intro, reverb to the max whilst tiny computer bleeps try to work their way through the layers of sound, only to be stopped in their tracks when Pope St. Gregory the Great seems to be making a quick appearance through the doorway... Oh, hellooooo...

                  The rest is history really.
A stomping chicago-house on deep acid extravaganza unfolds and takes me on a trip through the chaos of what can only be described as a psychedelic rave in hell, before knocking out seven bells at the gates of heaven, clocking in at seven minutes, thank you very much!
This can't be a coincidence, surely?

Four minutes of wicked mischief in paradise left to go, Dr. Devious at the helm...
Purgatory beckons. "Mind the gap, please"
Apocalypse straight ahead, incoming anticlockwise saxophone burst at your left... right, center.
                  Woops. Too late.

Yes, ELEVEN minutes of forceful madness, twenty-three years past sell-by date & having lost none of its first impact since the very beginnings of house.
Fingers crossed, as music is my new religion. Holy cow!!!!!
Now I can die a happy man.
                  But not just yet!

"A freak like me. Just needs infinity."
And then some. And more... and much, much more...

                  Tracklist:
01 'Infinity' (1990's Time For The Guru 7" Mix) 4:00
02 'Infinity' (1990's Time For The Guru) 7:30
03 'Infinity' (Spacey Saxophone Mix) 3:52
04 'Infinity' (Much Much More) 5:13
                  05 'Infinity' (Mad Mix) 11:07

Always : "Infinity's the biggest number there is."
                  "It's not."
                  "What's bigger, then?"
                  "Infinity... plus two."

It's so funny Discogs puts this on my home page as "Recently Released" I wish I could trick the page into thinking it's still the glorious 90's because like emiliopenya puts on his comment: "This Fucking Sucks!" no brainer all of this is crap from the industry generic house and some shitstep as well. the DJ Antoine vers. sounds like the one from 2008 which is the most well known version. While I'm not a big fan of the original either, it's still zillion and zillions of times better. Mega avoid.

None of the remixes can touch the original (http://www.discogs.sitioby.com/Guru-Josh-Infinity-1990sTime-For-The-Guru/release/50406 ).
If I was forced with a muzzle pointed at my head to pick a favorite from this ( it's not even a record, so thank god for that ) it would be the Loverush remix.
The rest is the total antagony of the original, at least in my book.

The 7" version is a better-produced affair than the 12" version, the editing apparently crisper and the edit getting rid of the more superflous moments. Can't think of any other tune where the readio version is better than the club mix.
