The fall of VMP must be studied, it is so crazy how a label, crashed and burned so hard to the point of ghosting customers and abandoning tons of preorders. RIP, the COVID era made VMP look unstoppable -
One of the absolute best vinyl reissue subscription services. Gorgeous jackets, awesome added liner notes, and fun color vinyl. And their anthologies? A whole ’nother level.

Overpriced, as with most things vinyl these days. On top of that, they use crappy pressing plants like Memphis Record Pressing. Not impressed.

NOT ONE, Southern Rock Title ? Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Outlaws, ARS, MTB, Blackfoot, Van Zant, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Etc....A Shame.

Quality control seems to be going down. Had more than a few extremely dished records in the past year. And i wish they'd replace the crappy plastic sleeves with something more durable.

I am looking to sell some VMP stuff! Lots of older exclusives available! Let me know if you're interested in any in my collection!

Edited 4 years agoThis is very good record club. I was a member for a couple of years and the pressings sound absolutely incredible. I have purchased a few one offs that I have been extremely satisfied with as well. I stopped my subscription because I was getting too many albums that I wasn’t really interested in. Then after I stopped my subscription, some incredible collectible albums and some other albums I would’ve been interested in where released and unfortunately I missed out on them. The really great copies I missed out on where copies like Queen - A Night At The Opera, with it’s beautiful purple swirl pattern, Stevie Nicks - Belladonna, blue and beautiful mixed dark blues, and the punk classic X - Los Angeles which is a great vibrant red vinyl pressing. I have the Japanese version of the X-Los Angeles album and it’s complete with the OBI and the original contents.
The albums are pressed to the highest standards and they sound better than some of the original pressings and even the Japanese pressings that I’ve always considered to be the best pressings ever. I also think Pallas and MFSL put out great pressings as well, but I have a very large collection of Japanese Albums and Japanese Promo Mini LP CDs in their Disk Union Promo Boxes as well as the Disk Union Promo OBIs that they use to also give out when you purchased the entire series of an artist CDs. Luckily, I have an American friend who lives outside of Tokyo and has sent me or procured many of these items that I have. They are getting extremely expensive and very hard to find authentic copies now.
The covers of the VMP pressings are extremely thick and they are made of a heavy duty cardboard material that rivals even some of the Mobile Fidelity and Analouge Production pressings that I own. Some of the exclusive albums like X - Los Angeles are pressed by another company outside of the regular editions, but they are still incredible sounding. I purchased a Bright Neon Lime Green Numbered copy of The Sugarcubes - Life’s Too Good, on the One Little Indian label and it’s an outstanding album. It’s 180g and it sounds and looks amazing!

I also have the DMM copy on 200g vinyl and it’s the best sounding copy of this album I’ve ever had the experience to listen too. It’s just a phenomenal album:

I have been looking at their website, when I to for the individual pressings that can be bought from them. I might start my hip back again after this pandemic subsides. My biggest issue was that I was getting to many albums that were not albums I would necessarily purchase, but they seemed to have changed the way they send out the albums and it looks more accommodating now than before for me to tell them what to send instead of getting an album that I would have to send back.
I would definitely recommend this club to any audiophile or anyone interested in getting some of the best sounding repressings of some of the best albums ever pressed. Their “Essential Collection” is a great place to discover new music and music that is extremely hard to find on vinyl anywhere else!

The best record club out there. They had a few issues at Christmas, put there hands up and send an amazing apology. You don't get that with amazon.

Hands down the best customer service I've ever received from a company. I was a three month subscriber in 2015, renewed a three month subscription again in '16, bought about 6 one-off releases, including Tom Waits and Nick Cave represses, and now I've signed up again cause they are so dedicated to putting out phenomenal content with superb quality and attention to detail.
I can't say enough good things about them. 5 stars!!!!!!!!!! -
These guys won't ship to Norway. They blame high shipping COSTs. If I am willing to pay these COSTs, what is the problem? Besides, the shipping COSTs to Norway are the same as any other neighbour countries. So these guys have no real good reason for not shipping to Norway. All packages arrive safely here.
