Electrosound Los Angeles

Profile:

West Coast pressing plant, formerly known as Monarch Record Mfg. Co., rebranded under this name in January 1985 following the merger of parent company ElectroSound Group with a graphics production firm called IGC, Inc. From that point, pressings were identified by deadwax markings of 'ELA'. The deadwax markings continued to employ the delta numbering system (Δ00000/-X) which had been characteristic of those of Monarch pressings.

The plant finally closed in May 1986.

Note also Electrosound Group Midwest, Inc. with record pressings that can be identified by the hand-etched "Emw", "ℰMW" or "ƐMW" in the deadwax area.
