We are very happy the way the site is gaining infomation, we can all be proud of what's going on here.
My only concern is that just the name, address, telephone number and styles are being posted. We would like this subforum to be more than just that so I am just pasting here a list taken from the other thread of other things that might be good to add or update to make this the one stop for the record buyer:
1. The Record store name if you would like can be linked to the online Map resource Multimap using the address details. This will also make it possible for a route plan to be made linking the different locations that are listed, or as a route planner from the shoppers home to the store they wish to visit.
If the shop has a website then please post that using the Url as the link, and also a telephone number if available so if a person does get lost they can always ring the shop for directions.
If the owners name is known for the smaller shops let us know, and also which days they are open and their usual operating hours. If there are any times that they might be closed due to local holidays or even daily siesta's etc.
2. A good general idea of a good way to get there i.e. "taxi 10 minutes from the airport is the most convienant way", restaurants to get a bite to eat, a place to perhaps get a beer, or even places of interest & attractions that are near by, also site seeing that the discogger could make more of a nice afternoon trip including the record store out of it that's in the general walking distance. you don't have to go overboard but if anything is cool share it with the discogger so they may have a more pleasant trip. So often when you do hard record digging you're dehydrated, tired, don't know where to go or what's quick to eat etc etc. This could releave some of that stress for the trip:)
3. Give a description of genre's they cover, the years roughly, how many hours you would expect them to stay and search if they like the styles that the store offers and if it's their first time visiting. That could be helpful so they can make better use of their time and possibly hit another record store nearby more efficently. Any places of good searching in the store to look for special records/bins, how organized is the store,do they sell dj equipment/gear, how is the store help there, how are the PRICES, and any other information you would like to give about the store would be terrific!!
4.Try to include a date of your last visit to a store when adding information. This will be useful to people who read your information at a future date to know how current the information is. Also consider updating your posts at a later date when you visit these stores again. Even if the information remains the same, updating the last visit date reaffirms the currency of the information.
if it's your first time posting check:
