Can the Gus Gus* - Mexico
    ...and many more: http://www.discogs.sitioby.com/search/?q=LV88+mpo&type=release

It seem to be associated with the LV88 Mastering SID, but there's no mention of it in the MPO profile. Only the Mould SID "12**" seems to match releases and profile.

Here's one that I found that actually DOES mention MPO in the matrix along with the mastering time stamp and additional numbers:
    Sexion D'Assaut - L'écrasement De Tête
Compare it with this one that I recently submitted:
Troïdes Priamus Hecuba - Vous Êtes Ici

It appear to be rather consistent, but can it be confirmed and added to the MPO profile?

Yes, they use a consistent scheme and that;s very typical. Wording it might be tough. Also they do make masters for their other plants which can confuse issues.

    where 'MPO' isn't mentioned?

MPO is generally mentionned not in matrix but on CD label, cover, back cover or booklet (on many MPO release I have, it's written somewhere "Made in by MPO" but not in the matrix area, so it's not really "isn't mentionned"))

Most I have lack any credit that you mention. They're quite distinctive though and many have a matrix logo.

I have one MPO disc and while it does mention MPO both on the cover and in the matrix area it also has writing around the hub, "MPO 06 COMPACT DISC".

Of course. I'm not saying their CDs are not marked, what I;m saying it that the ones I have are not. It is natural that marked ones will be the ones that immediately come to mind. In fact you may have more unmarked ones and have no idea they're MPO manufactured discs as they don't identify themselves in an obvious way. I suppose since I dedicate so much time trying to dig into the CDs that are not so obvious that I have noticed them where others may not have.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to say anything really, just mentioned that as another thing I've seen. :P But I guess it's possible I have some CDs where the manufacturer isn't clear.

Ok, I see. But there should be some kind of text about this, because right now it looks like people are adding MPO right out of the blue (even though it's sometimes mentioned in print on the inserts, people tend NOT to cite that bit in the notes).

Could we perhaps phrase something like this:
MPO isn't always explicitly mentioned in the CD matrix, but can sometimes be identified by a string of tiny text with the following format:
    CA [label cat#] @@ IFPI LV88 M/D/YYYY HH:MM:SS [AM/PM] NNNNNNNNNN
If you aren't sure, please ask in the forums.

Please improve! :-) (the example comes from Vous Êtes Ici)

Yeah, I quite like that.Be sure to plop a link to this thread in the submission history of the label page.

Some things I would like to bring to your attention... I'm not an expert on Labels matters so I prefer not to edit myself, I wouldn't like to make mistakes, but...

    • First, the page says that releases pressed by MPO can sometimes be identified with a string in the matrix following this format:
    CA [label cat#] @@ IFPI LV88 M/D/YYYY HH:MM:SS [AM/PM] NNNNNNNNNN.
I have indeed some MPO releases with a similar pattern, but I'm pretty sure the Mastering SID Code isn't LV88 but LY88 (I use a magnifying glass). See also here of here: I'm not sure these websites are trusty, but if you search over the pages, you'll see that Mastering SID Code IFPI LV88 is associated with another plant based in UK whereas IFPI LY88 is associated with MPO .

    • Secondly, I've got some MPO releases (with or without logo on the matrix but with some proper MPO identifiers) following different (but similar) patterns, which would be like:

    - CA [label cat#] @
    - IFPI L039 MM/DD/YY HH:MM:SS [AM/PM]
    examples: Qantice - The Cosmocinesy

    - [MPO logo] [label cat#] [n*@] XX
    - IFPI [L032/L033] YYYYMMDD HHMM [n*@] Z
examples: Nightwish - Over The Hills And Far Away)

Conclusion: it seems there are several MPO patterns which could be indicated on the MPO label page. I think it would also need more clarification about SID Codes, because the page says:
"MPO CDs made at Averton are assigned the following SID codes:
    Mastering: L031, L032, L033, L036, L039.
    Mould: 12## "
But there's nothing about the LY88 mentionned below here and according to some releases I own, the associated Mould SID Code also starts with 12##, and even 126# (and is often 126E).
    examples: Adrana - Perturbatio (1262).

What do you guys think of all this?

No one? It would be interesting if we can confirm or infirm this...
