Introducing the Discogs Community Advisory Turntable

Late last year, we introduced the idea of establishing a group of independent advisors to help further incorporate the and perspectives of the Discogs community in our planning process. Today, we’re excited to take the first steps to make that idea a reality by accepting applications for that group — the Discogs Community Advisory Turntable.

The goal of the Discogs Community Advisory Turntable is to collect , suggestions, and concerns from Discogs s, and prioritize it all into actionable steps. Because the Discogs community is very diverse — with different people using the platform in different ways for different reasons — it’s important to hear all perspectives in a common setting. 

In the early days of Discogs, when we had just a few thousand s, our founder and CEO Kevin Lewandowski would collect this kind of in the Forums directly. The Community Advisory Turntable is designed to replicate the spirit of those early days, placing representatives from the community in the room with Kevin and the leadership team to better amplify and focus the voices of what has grown to millions of s today. 

The timing of this is no accident. As our technology foundation rebuilding effort continues, we’re quickly gaining the ability to implement more updates and design new features faster and better than before. The Community Advisory Turntable will play a pivotal role in helping us not only prioritize how we apply these new capabilities but also implement them with consideration of how they might impact all Discogs s. 

All of us at Discogs consider ourselves fortunate to serve such a ionate community of music lovers. In fact, it’s our greatest asset. To that end, we are asking individuals representing all perspectives of the Discogs community interested in participating to apply.
