Usually when an album goes through the digital realm to my ears it suffers with a subtle harshness and sterility even if cut to vinyl from the digital realm. These MOFI's DSD's to vinyl are an exception, they are pure pleasure to listen to. amazing detail and deep soundstage. I still think some of the warmth and softness and depth of AAA all analog is a bit compromised but it's ok, it's made up for with crystal clear sound.

Do you prefer this on stereo to the original mono pressing? I have that and wonder if anything could be better.

I have reviewed a handful of these Miles MoFi editions and this one is up to the level of most of the other releases such as Sorcerer and Nefertiti - the pressing quality and sonics of these Miles second quintet releases by MoFi cannot be beat - wait until they release more and grab one (you will not be disappointed)

I have an original US copy (2-eye labels), the Impex, and this one. The Impex sounds amazing, but I prefer the Mofi, and it's probably because the album sides are long, with lots of quiet parts, side 2 in particular. This one really benefits from the 45RPM treatment.

First copy had gouges and scratches on A2, but the replacement is perfect. I too think this beats the Impex, but not by very much. The highs are better on this one, and I think the pressing is quieter. So $60+ for a somewhat incremental improvement, plus double the flipping . . . hmm 🤔 the inner gatefold is nice though. I'll probably keep both -- MFSL for headphone listening and the Impex for general listening when I don't want to flip.

Oh, music's great too 😄 Herbie's solo on Mood is one of the more sublime moments for this quintet.

I found this to sound a touch better than my Impex all analog reissue.

Grabbed a copy of the repress and it sounds fantastic. Silent vinyl, low noise floor, "hot" cut with plenty of dynamics. Glad I was able to add it to my MOFI Miles Davis collection.

If at all, such a long playtime requires a 45 cut. Outstanding issue by MFSL although not from 1st tape. Forget most of previous issues.
