The outcast of Architect's catalog, it took years for me to appreciate just how varied and enigmatic Lower Lip Interface is. For those of us who wonder why S'Apex never did another record, here it is. This is electrifying precision combined with some of the funkiest breaks and beats I've yet heard out of Myer. There's a lot of talk that this release was originally intended to be released under a different name which amuses me to no end. What the fuck else could this kind of work have been put out as? Yeah, I'm blanking, too.

Stuck in a rut is not a phrase which can ever be attributed to Architect because while the other records he's done under this name have a kind of loose affiliation with one another, Lower Lip Interface is a bizarre left hand turn into uncharted waters. The kind of waters which look placid on the surface but run silent and deep with one hell of an undertow driving things along. The puppet master with his strings bunched up in a Gordian knot is another way to look at it; surprisingly, these tracks could work on a dance floor... for epileptics... with strobes epoxied to their limbs trying to communicate in semaphore.

Melodies are provided by the armload, atmospheres courtesy of introspection. You will find yourself thinking quite a bit about the choices you've made in life. Like a series of breaker s simultaneously shorting out all one can perceive in the velvety darkness are the sultry, onishing entreaties to find the one you adore and be with them; get closer... until her pores are the only topography visible. The feeling of lustful, hot breath on the back of your neck.

    Surrender to the interface.

The remixes on here are no joke, either. This isn't just padding to provide bonus content. Ever bit down on a seared, bloody piece of liver and winced at how visceral it is? These re-done versions have the same impact because while Architect wrote the originals, the array and sheer scope of where guys like Torrent Vaccine take their submission to is chillingly inhuman . If you don't own Lower Lip Interface then what the hell are you reading this for. Procure immediately.
