To my ears, this is a great sounding record pressed flat and dead-silent when it ought to be. To my eyes this is another single-LP in a BIG ASS GATEFOLD that fails to respect my finite-shelving capacity, for better or worse.

Echoing what others have said here. Definitely surface noise / light distortion present on side a. My side b is pretty flawless for the most part.

Love the jacket and the lyric book is awesome, but there is distinct surface noise on both sides of the vinyl. I can hear the static quite consistently and especially during the quiet parts.

So this is one of my favorite albums, I have a lot of personal attachment to it as it was the album that I listened to constantly during a formative period in my life. I love it, every part.

Now, my vinyl copy of this is terrible. The distortion and clipping makes it practically un-listenable, and I have no idea why. All of my other records sound fine, but this one is just bad, so much distortion (especially on the chorus vocals) that it ruins it for me. I’m really sad that I ended up with a bunk copy, so I’ll be looking to buy another hopefully better copy in the future. This is one of my favorite albums ever and I would like to see it done justice in the vinyl format. Hopefully the next disc I get doesn’t have these issues :(

And before you dismiss this thinking I’m some audiophile that is impossible to please, I’m quite the opposite actually. I’m very forgiving when it comes to this format, so the fact I’m writing this review at all is a bad sign.

Great album, good pressing. A bit of surface noise, but overall great. Great package with the booklet, one of the best Jagjaguwar pressings I've had.

Keep seeing a lot of people saying this pressing sounds great. I disagree. This album should sound much much more present and full, but it leaves a lot to be desired. It sounds flat and just kinda boring to me. My setup is not to blame either, it's not the best but it's decent and I have other records that blow my socks off. This one does not.

My copy has some surface noise issues on side A, but side B sounds absolutely phenomenal. I would be interested to pick up another copy to see if I could roll the dice and get a pristine side A and B.

My copy sounds great on both sides. All around this album sounds phenomenal on vinyl

My copy is unlistenable. Lots of distortion. Maybe my set-up is to blame, but nothing else in my 100+ piece collection sounds this bad.

This record on vinyl is easily one of my favorite listening experiences. The album itself is very compact, this release sounds incredibly clean with a great dynamic range. The A side on my copy is nearly perfect (slight popping on track #5), while the B side fares slightly worse with some crackling between tracks #7 and #8, as well as some slight noise on tracks #9 and #10 that stand out due to the more tame nature of these pieces.

The packaging is sturdy. The real stand out included in this release is the sizeable lyrics booklet printed on reasonably weighty matte paper. The lyrical content is presented in stunning typography (punctuated with graphic elements and scribbles) that remains legible and easy to follow, with each song taking up a whole spread. Following each song with the booklet resting on your lap is, in my opinion, the best way to experience this album.
