Blorp Esette is the first appearance of The Residents on a label other than Ralph Records. It was compiled by the Los Angeles Free Music Society, a small group of avant-gardists,who produce occasional albums and singles of varying quality. Whoopy Snorp (here misspelled as Whoopy Snort) was recorded by the Residents especially for this project and donated to LAFMS. Later the song was also released on The Residents Radio Special cassette and Residue album.
The Front album cover and labels were designed by Captain Beefheart.
500 copies of Blorp Esette were produced (not numered). They were sold mostly by mail, and through a few record stores in the Los Angeles aera.
