Don’t know what everyone talking about. LP is flawless, great and rich sounding. Yes, it has some distorted high frequencies and lacks some mids, but it sounds good and far better than BOB press. My copy is VG+ to EX and still sounds pretty damn good inspite of not being ultrasonicly cleaned…

Can someone comment on sound of this LP? My copy sounds very distorted, like it was mixed and cut extremely hot. The distortion is erratic and sounds like hard clipping, seems like my AT-95E mistraking constantly. Also i've listened vinyl rip that was made with DL-110 cart by another guy and his LP sounds slightly better than mine, but have similar distortion. I own some NUCLEAR BLAST LP's pressed in that era and they all sounds great except this PS record.

good and bad news... Back on Black is going to reissue this and all the other classic Pungent Stench albums on april 2018.

Edited 15 years agoPungent Stench's disgustingly hilarious (or hilariously disgusting?) second album is a complete departure from what the band was on it's début LP For God Your Soul ... For Me Your Flesh which, although a cult item, was fairly atypical Death Metal. Been Caught Buttering relies on groove more than blast beats, the Stench's trademark (then newly-found) dark sense of humour also runs throughout - re: the lyrics to "Happy Re-Birthday" or "Splatterday Night Fever". Taken as a whole, the album feels like some sort of mega-horror-porn-fetish excursion, it's dirty, funny and revolting all at once.
This LP is perhaps of its time, but still holds up as musically interesting, particularly when compared to examples of Death Metal that pervade even to this day where speed and technicality have replaced any form of songwriting.
