I've heard that this is the best sounding press, and was lucky enough to have found one in impeccable condition. I will say, it sounds amazing, but I don't have any other presses to compare it to. Bass is BIG, guitars are wailing, drums cut through well, and Hetfield's angelic voice is clear as day.

Edited one year agoHands down the best copy of Ride the Lightning I've ever heard. In your face loud, but still crisp. This kills the orig. megaforce top to bottom. Altho I'm not a fan of the more purple tinge to the album artwork.

I own around 8-9 different pressings of this and while the MFN 45rpm is incredible this Allied pressing from 1984 stands with the best. Fantastic dynamics and bone crushing sound quality!! Wow!!!

Just got this excellent condition pressing, matches matrix, the Allied version of the Speciality Records Corp. Sounds excellent, jumps out at you, this has been reviewed by other fanatics as THE pressing to get, and I now believe in it. It's lively, in your face thrash metal! I've never heard the original Megaforce release, and I'm quite happy with the one here.
