"The Machine Stops is based on E.M.Forster's (Edward Morgan Forster's) sci-fi classic, a prophetic tale written in 1909 predicting a future living in isolated, subterranean cells, communicating with others only by the use of a personal screen.
Every need is controlled and catered for by the omnipresent machine, which inevitably begins to break down.
An atmospheric, musical interpretation beginning in tunnels deep beneath the earth. The struggle to escape and find a way to reach the outer surface is a utopian dream, which could become a dystopian nightmare...

    Excellent music. Amazing to hear live, but suffers from slightly muddy production on the vinyl version of this album. I have also encountered a pressing fault on my copy with a small bubble in the vinyl on one track
