Edited 6 months agoThis is an awesome-sounding reissue. The pressing is alright. A bit noisier than I would expect from RTI. A couple of clicks at the beginning of A1 and some others along A2 and B1. I tried two copies and the clicks are in the same parts.

Mother of god. This album sounds absolutely incredible. Flat, silent and amazing imaging. Stage is super wide also.

It's not as quiet in the background as I expected. Vocals could be more on the front. Compared to the first release, this version is softened. Janis has a less gruff voice. Instrument sounds are ok, very musical and dynamic version.

now, listening to this album probably the third or fourth time, I am very impressed. dont know why it took some time but I agree it is a good pressing considering this kind of music.
-
Just announced a One Step of this by Mofi..... Do not know if I want to double dip owning this version already.

Edited 9 years agoMoFi has never failed to impress me with their "Original Master Recording" pressings, and this remastering of "Pearl" is no different. To nitpick I'd say the vocals could be a little more upfront on a song or two.
