Edited one year agoI bought this pressing because I had the anniversary CD and it sounded awful. I couldn't get over how shithouse the CD sounded compared to my memories of the original pressing. This pressing sounds just as bad as the CD if not worse. Did this record EVER sound good? Lately I have my doubts. Be that as it may, this pressing sounds like crap no matter what the excuse ("badly recorded", etc.). Nice gatefold presentation though. Glossy jacket, poly-lined paper sleeve, original Harvest labels. A lovely item to handle... I suppose I can tell myself that this is how it was supposed to be and get used to the sound of it.

Edited 2 years agoThe record was never well recorded to begin with, i think this release still sounds decent and the pressing quality is fine.
I made a needledrop of one of the tracks from this vinyl record - You can find it on the right side in the videos - Under the name: Deep Purple - Into The Fire (2016 USA, Canada & Europe Vinyl)

Oh my God, this sounds so incredibly bad!!!!! The pressing is ok, but the mastering is horrible. If you have a decent vinyl playback System, you will easily recognise, that this ist total crap. Avoid it, it not worth a penny!

Hello everybody. regarding the recording of this release. I agree the low frequencies are less than that of the original. but here the tall ones are better. in general, with this masterpiece, not everything is clear. as you like. because the album was recorded in the original not at a high level. so alas. you have to choose either this or that

This is a quiet pressing, however the production is not great. I do not have other pressings to compare it to, but it does sound kinda flat, with little bottom end. Still a joy to listen to.
-
I enjoyed this pressing, but the original UK I have does not have the same dip in the lower mids and so sounds fuller in comparison.
