I was at Beat Street Records in Vancouver, BC just talking to the staff( lovely shop, please do go and plan to spend at least a few hours there), and after sharing what we were into, we started going through the crates as he pulled stuff for me to listen to. One of the things that he drew was this record, and he said " I have this in my home, you gotta have this.". I listened, liked it, and trusted him. However, it was not until I got home and got it on speakers that this track (Downtime) really hit home for me. Thank you good ser!! like manchester said below, this will never be far from my box.

Downtime was a track that set a mood. It ushered in the beautiful sound of house that the UK brought to the forefront. Really bringing back music, and disco, to house. Rerooted, house music climbed from clubby music to the pinnacle for house, Nuyorican Soul box set in 1997. I think this song and Flim Flam by Yellow Sox started this sound. For me at least.

Almost 10 years since manchester's comment about 'Downtime' having stood the test of time and it continues to do so. It has aged really well

Seminal release for me and that really made me sit up and take note of the new wave in British house music, of which Paper recordings were at the forefront. Miles Hollway & Elliot Eastwick produced an incredibly funky & beautiful deep house record with 'Downtime' and it has completely stood the test of time. It's never far away from my box.
