I'm voting for Intercity here, still sounds fresh today, deep skanking tune with a perfect balance between tech and dancefloor vibes

If you were raving to D&B in 98 then you heard this everywhere, caned by the likes of Ed Rush, Grooverider and of course Andy C, this sounded incredible on a big system, the twisting, writhing, bassline just blew you away. It was so in your face. The production was a level above almost everything else getting released around that time. Has stood the test of time pretty well.

"Mind Overload" is a vintage Ram track helped to cement that label's takeover in the D&B scene around 1998, spearheaded by Andy C's impossibly good mixing skills. This track really signified that the jungle days were over - if anybody needed reminding - and in its place was a much darker, rougher, serious sound. This was part of the Ram Records golden era. "Mind Overload" was way ahead of its time, making a whole load of other periodic tracks sound weak by comparison. Its arrangement borders on perfection. The choice of sounds is impeccable, from the first to the last, so much effort has gone into every fibre. These guys helped to define what drum & bass music is with this sound. They were the architects of everything you know and love about it. It's not as big a track as "Valley of the Shadows" or "Body Rock" but it nevertheless played its part in D&B history – it was a building block, and a manifestation of great minds. Hence the name "Mind Overload". 5/5.
