Nouvelle Phénomène – Cruel Game

One of the best new generation italo disco releases in recent years. Don't miss this one

Cruel Game, specifically the outstanding remix on A2, is literally the best production I have heard in the modern Italo Disco and Electro genres (with a taste of Goth as others have pointed out).

Classic Italo Disco became of interest quickly once introduced only a decade ago. Growing up in the states (New Orleans, Minneapolis), we simply didn't have Kano, Ken Laszio, Mike Mareen or Laserdance playing on the airwaves, although I recall hearing certain tunes in Tokyo (where I spent 10 summers).

Coupled with a resurgence of "New Generation" Italo and Electro, my record collecting is heavily concentrated on both classic and modern Italo Disco with Flemming Dalum at the helm in of remixers, although the Bordello label has made a serious impact given superior releases such as Cruel Game.

Catchy groove with dark French female vocals define both tracks and I only wish they were longer such that I could enjoy instead of throwing on another Bordello or Italo Moderism release and queuing up the mix.

Don't ignore the bullding Machinegewehr remix of Au Fond De Mon Couer with spacey and perfectly placed dub vocals amongst the incorporation of a more intricate structure than the original, which is also excellent.

Hidden gem of a release worth every penny.

One of the best synth-pop releases of the year. Amazing mixture of Gothic-Italo-Electro-elements. A juwel!

For lovers of Italo Disco track A2 and B1 it is spectacular, wonderful !!!!

Guess this is the highlight for some gothdisco lovers this year. No useless remix/B side here, cant say if i prefer the orig or remix versions, both are smashers.
