Update after 8 years... When it was released, I absolutely hated this pressing because of its surface noise (see my previous review). Well, guess what? It improves A LOT with repeated playing! The reason? Who knows... Probably the stampers weren't dehorned? One thing is sure: it sounds VERY good now, and it keeps improving with each playing. The SACD still is slightly better (warmer, more spacious and dynamic), but now finally I can say that this pressing is very good too.

I'd suggest the press is a little quiet because of the running time - over 50mins is quite a lot to squeeze on to vinyl, that's very close to the max. No complaints about the quality though, and it's a lovely blue :-)
And of course it is a great album! -
I'm currently listening to my copy, and I've yet to hear any surface noise. Overall it's a little quiet, but it's definitely better than other albums I have. The album artwork DOES look a little blurred though. It's not very noticeable on the front, luckily, but the problem becomes more clear on the back and inside of the tri-fold. The sleeves are clear and look like they'll do a good job in protecting the record. All in all, I'd say this copy is worth getting.

Edited 9 years agoMediocre pressing, lots of surface noise. Tried two copies, and they are the same.

Does this use reproduction artwork that looks like it's been scanned, or have they found the masters? The Music on Vinyl version looks OK but there is some fuzziness to the text, especially compared with the newly typeset copyright info which is crystal clear.
