Amazing album. I don't understand the derision. I'm a huge fan of B. Lustmord's work, and this stands with it all. "A Light That Is Darkness" might just be the best Lustmord track ever.

Edited 9 years agoYes, it is hard to regognize Lustmord here - except maybe for some infrabass window-breaking sounds - but this is the same kind of evolution taken by Inade with "The Incarnation Of The Solar Architects". Voices, clearer percussions, even melodies. MELODIES !!
Anyway, if you like Inade's album mentioned before, if you like Morthound's "Spindrift", you can't hate this Metavoid...

Blood deep in dread is a copy of Peter Gabriel's Rhythm of the heat. Same sampler, same instrument, shame...

Edited 12 years agoLustmord goes goth. Definitely "try before you buy" album even for Lustmord fans.

An album that is nearly universally scorned as being beneath Lustmord's talents. It may be overly derided though; I feel, for example, this is a better work than Juggernaut, Paradise Disowned, or [Other]. Give it a listen before giving it a thumbs down.

Edited 20 years agoRather disappointing an album. It sounds like B.Williams took all his unreleased/unfinished tracks/samples, had them all thrown in a blender and mixed it on speed 12 ... This Lustmord album is old-fashioned, bombastic goth (cfr. the 'been there done that' Gregorian vocs). It deserves some recognition for its technical complexity only (quality of sound is amazing!). My piece of advice to Brian: stay away from video games & cheap Holywood movies and get back to caves & caverns.
